But the celebrant at our wedding, Russell Hansen was featured on A Current Affair tonight dressed as Elvis. It’s his speciality, along with sea captains. He has also been featured in the Sydney Morning Herald a few times.
The reason we picked Russell was that he didn’t appear to be one of the stodgy old traditionalist celebrants that I discovered in our searches. We wanted someone fun, and I think we made the right choice. My best man, Roopesh, also used Russell’s services at his wedding. One thing I’m glad of is that we wrote our own vows. I am a bit tired of hearing Russell’s standard set after reading and thinking about it so many times myself.
And no, we never wanted an Elvis.
