I enrolled in a Graduate Certificate of Science in Astronomy course at Swinburne University of Technology today. The course is run entirely online and starts next week. As I am only doing two subjects per semester, it should take me a year to earn the certificate. I may translate this into a Grad Dip or Masters, depending on how it goes.
This is something I should have started a few years ago when I was employed at the Australia Telescope National Facility. Now I’m hoping that it will keep me sane if I’m stuck in a non-scientific workplace. I’m looking forward also to studying online learning facilities.
Enrolling in an online course doesn’t give the same level of excitement as starting an on campus degree. It would be nice to have the time to do such a thing, but right now I need to find a job and earn money.
I’ll update this website with interesting stuff that I get out of the course. Now, on to being a student once more!
